The main reason for my visit in CT is to help a buddy finish up some things before the opening of his beer bar;
The Bier Abbey in Schenectady, NY. While the locals are starting to get antsy about the opening date, there's still some work to be done and that is why I happily volunteered my services in hopes to learn yet another side of the beer industry. On the way upstate (2 hour drive) I got a little reacquainted with the States.

The lush countryside on our way up. |

Stopped off for a solid breakfast at one of America's oldest food traditions. |
 |
New glassware arrival, this was just half of it! |
 |
The Abbey's R2D2 Unit...obviously just a shopvac. |

"Belgian" Towers |

Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished! |
Between George's passion for wholesome food and knowledge of good beer,
The Bier Abbey is sure to be an instant hit and become a mecca for craft beer with it's 29 taps and even a beer engine. Especially given the plans of dedicated Belgian taps and rotating local craft! Upon the opening and my visit to "the Abbey" (hopefully sooner rather than later) there will most definitely be a BeerBarFeature and I will go into detail on what will really make this beer bar stand out from the rest!
