Playing Catch up!

Aside from all of the Winter offerings, here are the rest of the beers that have been quenching my thirst and exciting my palate over the holidays!

First up; my New Years Day Celebration was kicked off with a mini keg of Bayern's Dancing Trout. A hearty american pale wheat that tasted great in my new 1L stein!

Bayern Brewing: Dancing Trout: 5.4%abv: Missoula, MT.

Boulevard brews some great beers and even though this is one of them, I really can't get into Oktoberfest beers. If that's your thing, then I do recommend this one as it was one of the better American brewed examples that I have had. I plan to use the remainder of the sixer to marinate some brats!

Boulevard: Bob's 47: 5.8%abv: Kansas City, MO

Another Boulevard beer that I highly recommend. Their tripel is a great example of one of my favorite Belgian styles. Very flavorful and complex, yet highly drinkable with a "strange" finish.

Boulevard: Long Strange Tripel: 9%abv: Kansas City, MO.

An 09' Vintage of Old Ruffian had been sitting in my parents cellar for some time, but still needed another year or so to mellow out the strong alcohol presence. While there was some nice balance between the high bitterness and dark fruit flavors, the good characteristics were overpowered by the alcohol in this Barleywine.

Great Divide: Old Ruffian: 10.2%abv: Denver, CO.

Another solid Elysian brew, this Red ale was very thirst quenching with delicate notes and was a perfect beer after a long day on the mountain! Named after a radio program in Seattle, some of the proceeds from this beer go to support families of war vets.

Elysian: Mens Room: 5.6%abv: Seattle, WA
