"Working" at Harvest Moon Brewery!

The last two days have been pretty crazy, working all day at the Harvest Moon Brewpub and then enjoying some great beers in the evening...I have finally managed to turn my hobby into a career!   Between cleaning kegs, filtering a beer, cleaning out the kettles, and transferring a beer I definitely feel like I got a good idea of the "behind the scenes" action that takes place while brewing beer! Helping out at the brewpub has been a great experience and I am glad that I happened to be at the right place at the right time, and said the right thing! (Here's a hint for those of you interested in volunteering at a brewery, tell them you like to clean!) In all honesty though, you really have to enjoy cleaning because about 90% of brewing is cleaning and sanitizing and I have realized that working in a brewery is probably a  germaphobe's dream job...lucky me!

The Kettle and MashTun upstairs...I climbed into the tank on the right to clean it out!

Kegs that I cleaned along with the milling area.

Where all of the cleaning took place, amidst the Fermentation Tanks.

Brought a beer to share each day, a nice Imperial Coffee Stout from LongTrail.

A solid Old Ale from Cigar City, this one was supposed to come back to Paris, but I don't have the room!

Stopped off for a post work beer at George Street Alehouse, the manager let me keep the glass!

Enjoying the fruits of my labor, as fresh as can be: a solid Hefe from none other than Harvest Moon.
