Brewery Feature: Deschutes!

A brewery that I am sure most of you know about, but may not know the lengths they go in order to maintain and produce solid beers. Deschutes has been brewing beers out of Bend, OR since 1988 and continues to maintain their reputation as one of the countries originators and innovators in craft beer.

With yearly offerings and seasonal beers covering a wide spectrum, Deschutes sets the standards and pushes the limits with their Reserve Series beers, year after year. Another series, the Bond Street Series, represents the various hoppy side of the Deschutes Brewery. As innovators, originators, and master brewers, Deschutes never ceases to amaze me with their unique, diverse, and flavorful lineup!

For my first impression and the second release of The Dissident, I have to say that I was quite impressed. Great cherry notes, a solid malt back, excellent mouth feel, and a slight tartness, this was an incredibly drinkable, yet strong interpretation of a Flanders Brown Ale!

Deschute's The Dissident; 10.2%abv.

A yearly release that I always look forward to tasting. As long as it has a decent best buy date, for the price it has always been worth picking up! Tons of hop presence, solid bitterness, accompanied by a nice malt back, this is one of my must have annual releases and an awesome Double Ipa!

Deschutes' Hop Henge, Double Ipa, 9% 95IBUS.
